We are pleased to announce that the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission is accepting applications for the Fulbright Specialist Program 2026-27 competition. The program enables Polish institutions to invite and establish cooperation with outstanding American specialists and jointly implement a project during a visit to Poland (lasting from 14 to 42 days).
Applications with a project description may be submitted by institutions willing to host a Specialist to conduct or participate in, among other things: lectures, seminars, and workshops; symposiums; conferences; consultations on curriculum development and administrative/research staff development; conducting evaluations and expert assessments; or developing local programs and/or research projects.
The Fulbright Specialist grantee receives an honorarium and coverage of round-trip air travel costs to and from Poland. The host institution is obligated to cover the specialist's expenses related to accommodation, subsistence (food), and domestic travel.
In this year's edition of the competition, the scope of visits has been expanded to include additional activities that align with the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026. Examples of such activities during the planned visit may include open lectures related to the project topic for a wider audience, or informational and educational activities highlighting selected aspects of American history or culture.
The current call for applications is accepting proposals for visits to Poland planned for the period between September 1, 2026, and September 30, 2027.
The condition for participation in the competition is the submission of the application form by a representative of the host institution in electronic version by January 9, 2026. A link to the electronic application system and instructions on how to fill out the application, along with a detailed description of the priority adopted for the current call, can be found on the website: https://fulbright.edu.pl/specialist/
