Visiting Researchers

Visa and Residence Support

Researchers coming to Poland from outside the European Union may be required to obtain a visa before arrival and legalise their stay after entering the country. Welcome Point provides guidance and support to visiting researchers throughout these procedures.

Visa Application

If a visa is required, researchers should apply at the appropriate Polish embassy or consulate in their country of residence before travelling to Poland.

Our office can assist by providing the necessary documents required for the visa application, such as:

  • an official invitation letter,

  • confirmation of hosting by the University,

  • other documents confirming the purpose of the visit.

Residence Permit

Researchers who plan to stay in Poland for a longer period may need to apply for a temporary residence permit after arrival.

Welcome Point can provide basic guidance on the procedure and direct visiting researchers to the appropriate offices.

How We Can Help

We are happy to support visiting researchers by:

  • providing general information on visa and residence procedures,

  • advising on the steps required after arrival in Poland.

Please note that all visa and residence permit decisions are made solely by the relevant Polish authorities.
