EURAXESS Poland
For 20 years, EURAXESS Poland has been supporting the mobility and career development of researchers. It provides free information to scientists interested in conducting research in Poland, as well as to the employers who host them. This information covers the science and higher education sector, job and funding opportunities, immigration and administrative procedures, as well as living and working conditions in the country. Additionally, the European EURAXESS database allows for the free posting of job vacancies and fellowships for researchers from all over the world.
Members of EURAXESS in Poland include universities and scientific institutes, with the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) serving as the national coordinator.
EURAXESS Poland is part of the European EURAXESS - Researchers in Motion network, established in 2004. It connects more than 1,500 members from 700 scientific organizations across 43 countries. Furthermore, nine EURAXESS Worldwide hubs operating outside of Europe reach researchers globally, promoting the European research and innovation market and opportunities for cooperation with the EU.
The University of Wrocław has received funding under the NAWA-EURAXESS Network program as the lead partner of the Lower Silesian EURAXESS Network project. The project will be implemented in cooperation with three partners: the Wrocław University of Health and Sport Sciences, the Wrocław Medical University, and the Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The goal of the project is to establish the Lower Silesian Euraxess Network and create an integrated support system for international researchers, doctoral students conducting research in Lower Silesia, and their families. It also aims to promote the region as a premier destination for scientific research.
As part of the project activities, the following are planned:
-
A project launch conference.
-
Training sessions for the staff of the lead partner and project partners.
-
Information sessions, as well as integration and networking meetings for international researchers and doctoral students.
-
Study visits to EURAXESS centers at universities in Poland and across Europe.
-
The production of a film promoting the Lower Silesian Voivodeship as an attractive location for developing a scientific career.
